We are dust and shadow so let's ride!

Who know whether the gods above will add
tomorrow's time to today's total?
Every gift which you give to your own dear self
will escape an heir's greedy hands.

Okay, the above stanza from my long-dead buddy, Horace, is no Thorny. Still, Horace is speaking to you. He's saying, "K-Racer get your arse to Spearfish and quench your thirst with nearly tasteless light lagers, gorge on thick-sliced country bacon, pucker on the Citadel Slide, and experience the best mountain bike race east of the divide:

Time to cowboy up. Mount that steel pony and head west.

Post Five-O I'm headed to the Magpie Creek campground on the Maah Daah Hey. I intend to blitz Devil's Pass:

and then hit the Ice Caves or China Wall:

With any luck we'll have the trails to ourselves.

The Five-O is family friendly. Ask Tomac or KK. It's a long drive but I guarantee it's worth it. I've been singing the praises of this event for three years. Bring your self. Bring the kids. Perry Jewett will show you a good time.

Email me if you want to ride some of the world's best single-track post Five-O.
